Photo ID showing name or Current utility bill or Bank statement or Paycheck stub or Voter confirmation card or Government check or Other government document that shows your name and current address If you do not have any of the above items, you can vote after requesting and filling out a “Polling Place Elector ID” form Or, you can vote a provisional ballot and provide one of the items above to the county election office by 5:00 pm the day after the election, or mail it to the county election office, postmarked by the day after the election. |

Homeless |
Fill out a new voter registration. List the address of a shelter, or a detailed description of where you usually park your car or where you camp in the “address where you live” section. This identifies your voting precinct and district. If you receive mail, list that address as your “mailing address. “ |
Felons |
You may vote, if you are not currently in prison on a felony conviction. |
Address Change within a Montana County |
Fill out a new voter registration form. You must list a physical address, not a PO Box. Alternatively, you can vote at your polling place using your old address once, and then update your address after the election at your county courthouse Election Administrator’s Office. |
Address Change from another Montana County |
Fill out a new voter registration form. You must list a physical address, not a PO Box. |
Inactive Voters, who missed last primary and general elections |
Notify your county election office by phone or by mail that your voter registration information is current or Appear at the polling place where you are currently registered and confirm your current voter registration information or Appear at your current polling place and update your voter registration information by filling out a voter registration form or Request an absentee ballot for any election or Provide a new or updated voter registration form to your county election office. |
Cancelled Voters, who missed last 2 general elections |
Fill out a new voter registration. |
Absentee or Mail Ballots |
If you are registered to vote, sign up on Application for Absentee Ballot form, https://sosmt.gov/Elections/Absentee/. If you are registering to vote, check the Absentee Ballot box on the Voter registration form. You can make a one‐time request for an absentee ballot or request an absentee ballot for all elections. |
